Climate Light Limited Launches “Elena” — The Next Step Forward in Agentic Personal Gardening AI

At Climate Light Limited, the company behind GardenAdvice.co.uk, we are pleased to announce the launch of Elena, the next stage in our AI-assisted gardening and personal support project.

Elena is the sister system to Helene, our original AI gardening assistant launched last year, which was designed to provide general gardening help, plant identification, and practical horticultural guidance through conversational AI.

While Helene focused on general gardening knowledge, Elena takes the next step forward by becoming a far more personal and interactive AI agent.

The Elena system has now been launched through the MyGardenTeam service on GardenAdvice.co.uk — a service designed around the idea of having a personal gardener for your garden.

Importantly, Elena also represents the first stage in Climate Light Limited’s move toward Agentic AI systems within gardening and environmental support services.

Unlike traditional chatbots that simply answer questions, Agentic AI is designed to take a more active role by helping organise information, suggest actions, provide reminders, and assist users over time using accumulated knowledge and context.

A Personal AI Gardening Assistant

Elena has been developed as a personal AI chatbot linked directly to your own garden information and advisory notes provided through the GardenAdvice service.

This means Elena can:

  • Remind users when gardening tasks need carrying out
  • Use historical garden notes and recommendations
  • Help plan seasonal gardening work
  • Provide images of plants for identification and reference
  • Show methods and techniques such as:
    • Ripe stem cuttings
    • Pruning techniques
    • Feeding schedules

  • Answer questions specific to an individual garden

Unlike standard AI chatbots, Elena is designed to work alongside the ongoing advice and notes created through the GardenAdvice advisory services and MyGardenTeam system.

Elena is the first stage in developing a more advanced gardening AI system capable of acting more like a long-term gardening assistant.

The aim is for the system to gradually become more proactive and context-aware, helping users manage gardens over time rather than simply responding to individual questions.
